My CMA story – Jayant Agarwala

Hello, folks! I’m Jayant Agarwala from Jain (Deemed to be University) and today, I have a story to tell you – a story that gave me the spotlight I desired, a story that made me realize I am more than what I am, a story that I will carry with myself to all the directions and dimensions of my career. Yes, this is my CMA story!

My CMA Journey

Right after 12th, I was preparing for the next chapter of my education – the Bachelor's. Only this time around, I wanted to do something exceptionally cool. This thought had me turn to professional courses. But there was a big question in front of me when it came to professional courses – Which professional qualification do I pursue? I know this is a question that remains unanswered for most of you out there. I could find my answer with a little research, and, a talk I had with the university counselors. Yes, I decided on US CMA and there are a couple of reasons why I went about the course:
- Global recognition
- Easy 2 parts exam
- It takes about 4 – 6 months to prepare
- Helps rock campus placements

On taking up the course, I started the preparation early. I was curious to get my hands on the books and further the Online Test Bank (OTB). Most of the exams that I’ve come across involves pen and paper, manual correction. But when I realized the CMA exam and the evaluation is computerized, I couldn’t stop myself from checking the kind of questions they have on the OTB. As you may have guessed, I got all my answers wrong. I did freak out initially, but relying on concepts and solving them one too many times helped me get my pace with the correct answers.

There are a couple of things I did right which have helped me become more confident in terms of solving the questions, and, appearing for the exams at large. Watching Varun Jain’s video lectures, solving OTB questions several times, and keeping good revision time have worked wonders for me. I followed the above religiously and walked my way to success.

The best moment in my entire CMA journey was the day when my results were announced. I checked my mails frequently and yes; I was super tensed! A couple of hours pass and I get a mail containing my exam results. I cleared the exams! It took me a couple of minutes to realize my accomplishment as I was stunned the entire time looking at the mail (my results) on my screen. But when reality hit me, I was extremely happy! I shared my results with my friends and family. They were excited and cheered me on!

I would like to thank my college, Jain (Deemed to be University), and Miles Education who have played an important role in my career. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have been able to prove my capabilities. They gave me the opportunity and I signed up for it. All it needed from my end was a little push in terms of dedication and determination. Today, with CMA US, I feel I have got the head start I needed to become the champ in my career.
