Hello! So, you are multitasking these days – office work, homeschooling the children, preparing for the CPA exams – all at the same time! You know that all of these tasks require 100% of your focus. But, maintaining the right balance between them is not always easy. This leads to stress, which in turn, leaves you distracted and frustrated.

You’d surely be thinking if there’s a way out, where you could be a champ at everything! Do you want to stay focused and achieve the best results at all your tasks? These tips will make it easy for you to overcome the hurdles and handle all your tasks positively!

Organize yourself

What does it mean? You have only 24 hours in a day, and there is only so much you can do in these 24 hours. It is better to do it in an organized manner than trying to do everything simultaneously. Mind it, you are not superhuman. Therefore, you should divide your time in such a way that you get maximum output from each task. And of course, you must have time for ample rest to keep you energized.

Stay focused

This one is important. You can’t let your mind roam in different directions. You have got to have your full attention on the task at hand. Whether you are working from home, homeschooling, or studying for the CPA exam, the full focus always releases positive energy which leads to better efficiency. So, stay focused on whatever you are doing at any particular time and you will see how it will help you in doing it well. You may say, “it is easier said than done”. But then there are ways to achieve this. Staying in the moment is the key. One more important point to keep in mind here. Do not rush to check your social media accounts at regular intervals for updates. Keep a separate block of time for this activity and stay focused on the task at hand.

One thing at a time

Do not overlap tasks! In your quest to complete the tasks hurriedly, you may be tempted to overlap them i.e. starting one thing while in the middle of another activity. When working from home, focus on work. When you are homeschooling, do that only, and while you are studying, just study. Don’t bite more than you can chew. There is no real benefit of putting unnecessary pressure on yourself by trying to do many things at once. Do one thing at a time and do it well.

Stay disciplined

Consistency is the key, they say. Once you have chalked out a schedule for yourself, stick to it. Do not try to change it often, for no good reason. If you keep following your set routine consistently and diligently, it will not only reduce your stress but will also result in better overall output. When there is clarity of mind, there is no room for stress. Moreover, when you have a set schedule, you are able to plan better. There is no confusion whatsoever.

Sort out your priorities

A critical part of surviving working from home, homeschooling and the CPA exam are getting your priorities right. Things are not always going to go as planned and it may not be possible to get everything done. So you must prioritize things in order to get the best results. Like, for example, while studying for the CPA exam, it would be good to put the topics you want to study in order of priority or their importance. Finish one and then move on to the next one. Similarly, while working, you may want to prioritize whether to send mails first or to make phone calls or something more important. Here, the emphasis is again on the clarity of mind and thoughts which will keep you away from negativity and unwanted stress and improve your efficiency.

These are some tips on how to survive to work from home, homeschooling, and the CPA exam. If you follow the above tips in full spirit, we are sure you will not only survive but thrive. Just keep doing your tasks along these lines and you will have a stress-free time and achieve better results.
