The much-awaited news is finally out. US CPA exam will be in India now, throughout 2021 following a Continuous Testing model. Since June 1, 2020, when NASBA & AICPA decided to administer the CPA exams in India till the month of December, aspirants were expecting them to extend the testing window till March 2021. Considering the little to no-improvement of measures for cross-country travel, further helped to push the proposal forward, and candidates heaved a sigh of relief to relax their exam timeline.
We received the announcement from NASBA on November 2, 2020, the CPA exam will be conducted in India at the latest of January 1, 2021. The exam mode has transitioned to ‘Continuous Testing’- restriction to Exam Testing Windows is lifted, CPA exams can be scheduled at any day of the week for the choice of subjects from the candidates’ end. The Coṇtinuous Testiṇg model was launched as early on July 1, 2020. The ageṇda to the shift was to the continuous testing model, because “it positions candidates to retake the exam sections while information is top-of-mind and may shorten the time needed to complete the four-section exam.”
NASBA assured that the candidates won’t have to worry about the previous scores for the section from prior attempts due to the major change to the exam. The scheduler for the candidate registration for Continuous Testing is available from November 2, 2020, onwards, and candidates are requested to keep an eye on NASBA’s website to confirm whether their Board of Accountancy has transitioned to the Continuous Testing model.
Having Continuous Testing for CPA, 2021 would be a boon to the students who aspire to become CPA. This was a much-awaited announcement and it’s highly recommended for the students to schedule their tests accordingly. Those who have not enrolled yet should not miss this opportunity at any cost.
